This network fosters dialogue between various areas of expertise on the writing of technology and the technology of writing, sharing interdisciplinary cross-readings of fictional and non-fictional texts dealing with early modern techniques and inventions.
Meeting for workshops and study days, we proceed by inviting each researcher to put forward some of the primary material they are working on (be it manuscript or printed, text and/or image, though in English translation where practicable), to be discussed collectively. The conversation continues across sessions and themes, with discussion often circling back and picking up earlier threads. Themes so far have included: hands, performance, gesture, and touch.
We welcome interested researchers to get in touch with Dr Jennifer Oliver in the first instance, to receive emails and invitations to future sessions: email@example.com
